Wet and slippery roads, increased vehicle traffic expected due to the weekend

(Patria) - According to data collected from road services across Bosnia and Herzegovina, most roads in our country have wet and occasionally damp surfaces due to rain falling in most parts of the country.

In the northeastern and central Bosnia regions, including the wider areas of Kladanj, Banovići, Živinice, Kalesija, Olovo, and Ribnica, fog is present, reducing visibility.

Landslides and rockfalls pose a danger on sections passing through cuttings. We highlight the following sections: Srebrenik–Šićki Brod, Ribnica–Banovići–Živinice, Simin Han–Ban Brdo, Jajce–Banja Luka, Bugojno–Kupres, Bradina–Konjic–Jablanica, Sarajevo–Foča, Rogatica–Višegrad, and Turbe–Karanovac.

Given that today is the last working day of the week and the weekend is ahead of us, we expect increased vehicle traffic in the afternoon hours, not only in urban areas but also on the approaches to larger centers, as well as at border crossings, where longer delays are possible.

Drivers are advised to exercise maximum caution due to wet roads, possible reduced visibility due to fog, and occasional shedding of stone material, sand, and earth onto the road. It is recommended to adjust speed to road conditions and maintain a safe distance between vehicles.

Movement of all vehicles across the bridge on the main road Dobro Polje–Miljevina is prohibited. Vehicles with a total weight of up to 3.5 tons can use alternative routes via Kalinovik (19 km of unpaved road) and Grebak, while freight vehicles are rerouted via Rogatica and Goražde.
