Wet roads in August, frequent landslides, fog in valleys and mountain passes

(Patria) - In most of Bosnia and Herzegovina, traffic is moving on wet or damp roads, and BIHAMK warns of frequent landslides and advises cautious driving. On some sections in valleys, as well as over mountain passes, fog and low cloud cover are locally reducing visibility.

Due to works on repairing the guardrail along the Zenica-Doboj main road (on the Donja Vraca-Liješnica section), every day (except Sunday), from 09:00 to 17:00, vehicles are moving slowly, with alternating passage. Given that this is a busy section, longer queues of vehicles in both directions can be expected.

On the Konjic-Jablanica main road, on the bridge near the Crnaja tunnel, works are underway to repair expansion joints, due to which traffic is moving slowly, regulated by traffic lights.

Due to road surface repair works on the M-17.5 Jablanica-Blidinje main road (on the Jablanica-Kosne Luke section), passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes total weight are moving slowly, with alternating passage of vehicles every day (except Sunday) from 07:00 to 17:30. For vehicles over 3.5 tonnes total weight, traffic remains suspended.

Works are also ongoing on the A-1 Podlugovi-Sarajevo north motorway section, as well as on the main roads: Jablanica-Prozor (Mirci settlement), Semizovac-Olovo, Gacko-Foča (in Sastavci), Mostar-Čitluk (at the entrance to Čitluk) and Jajce-Crna Rijeka.

At border crossings, waiting times for passenger vehicles are no longer than 30 minutes.

The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. Traffic is prohibited for vehicles over 5 tonnes maximum permissible weight at the Karakaj border crossing (near Zvornik). Freight vehicles over 5 tonnes are redirected to the Bratunac or Rača border crossings, while buses can use the Šepak border crossing. Freight vehicles can travel via the Šepak border crossing from 09:00 to 13:00 and from 22:00 to 06:00 (on weekends they can cross from 22:00 to 06:00).
