Wet roads and fog make driving difficult, long queues at borders

(Patria) - This morning, traffic on roads across Bosnia and Herzegovina is on wet or damp roads, without long delays, but with an increased frequency of vehicles, especially in urban areas. Fog and low cloud cover are reducing visibility in valleys and along river courses in places, while landslides of soil and rocks are possible on mountain sections.

BIHAMK appeals to drivers to be maximally cautious and to respect traffic regulations, especially in construction zones and areas with reduced visibility.

Due to mine clearance work on the Ustiprača–Goražde main road (quarry location), traffic is halted for half an hour every working day from 8 AM to 3 PM. A similar situation is on the Dobro Polje–Miljevina main road, in the Sijeračke stijene area, where traffic is halted from 7:30 AM to 5 PM due to landslide remediation.

On the Konjic–Jablanica main road, at the bridge in Ostrožac, traffic is proceeding in one lane due to expansion joint repairs, regulated by traffic lights. Traffic is also slowed on the Žepče–Maglaj main road (Ozimica location) due to road damage.

Works are also underway on several sections across the country, including: the A-1 highway Podlugovi–Sarajevo sjever, and the main roads Bileća–Trebinje, Zavidovići–Vozuća, Klašnice–Banja Luka, Jablanica–Blidinje, Jablanica–Prozor, Semizovac–Olovo, Gacko–Foča, Mostar–Čitluk, and Jajce–Crna Rijeka.

Long queues of passenger vehicles have been recorded at the Gradina, Gradiška, and Doljani border crossings, while at other crossings, delays are up to 30 minutes. Due to the introduction of the new European Entry/Exit System (EES), additional delays are expected at the borders.

The Brčko border crossing is open only for vehicles up to 3.5 tons, while at the Karakaj border crossing, traffic is prohibited for vehicles heavier than 5 tons. Trucks are redirected to the Bratunac or Rača border crossings, and buses can use the Šepak border crossing.
