(Patria) - In most of Bosnia and Herzegovina, traffic is moving on wet and locally slippery roads this morning. Due to rain affecting certain regions, and locally heavier precipitation and showers, especially in the far northwest, northeast, and central parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, drivers are advised to exercise extra caution. In higher mountainous areas and across mountain passes, landslides and rockfalls onto the road are possible. On open sections, side wind gusts are possible, particularly in Herzegovina. Due to the mentioned weather conditions, we recommend avoiding sudden braking and increasing the distance between vehicles. We ask all traffic participants for patience and compliance with traffic regulations and signage.
On the main road Srbac-Derventa, due to works on laying the final asphalt layer, traffic is suspended, and vehicles are redirected to the route Srbac-Prnjavor-Derventa.
Rehabilitation of a landslide is underway at the Sijeračke stijene location on the main road Dobro Polje-Miljevina, where from 08:00 to 17:00 hours there will be suspensions lasting up to 45 minutes.
Due to mine clearance works on the main road Ustiprača-Goražde (at the quarry site), every working day from 09:00 to 15:00 hours there will be half-hour traffic suspensions.
Due to the rehabilitation of an active landslide on the regional road Ostrožac–Buturović Polje, traffic is temporarily suspended. Alternative routes are operational and their use is recommended until the works are completed.
Works are also ongoing on sections of the A-1 motorway Podlugovi-Sarajevo north and Visoko-Kakanj, as well as on main roads: Vrtoče–Bosanski Petrovac (Medeno Polje area), Semizovac-Olovo, Žepče–Maglaj (Ozimica location), Zavidovići-Vozuća (in Krivaja), Klašnice-Banja Luka, Jajce-Crna Rijeka, Jablanica-Blidinje (Jablanica-Kosne Luke), Konjic-Jablanica (Ostrožac), Jablanica-Prozor (Mirci settlement), Bileća-Trebinje (at Žudojevići location), Gacko-Foča (in Sastavci), Mostar-Čitluk (at the entrance to Čitluk), as well as at the entrance to Neum.
Traffic frequency occasionally increases at border crossings, but current waiting times for passenger vehicles are no longer than 30 minutes.
Due to passenger registration under the new system for entry and exit from European Union countries (EES, Entry/Exit System), longer waiting times are possible at border crossings.
The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tons. Traffic is prohibited for vehicles over 5 tons maximum permissible weight at the Karakaj border crossing (near Zvornik). Freight vehicles over 5 tons are redirected to the Bratunac or Rača border crossings, while buses can use the Šepak border crossing. Freight vehicles can travel on the Šepak border crossing from 09:00 to 13:00 and from 22:00 to 06:00 hours (on weekends they can cross during the 22:00 to 06:00 period).
We remind drivers that from November 1st, possession of winter equipment is mandatory on roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
