'My Address: Srebrenica' boycotts elections on February 21

(Patria) - The initiative "My Address: Srebrenica" today made a decision to boycott the repeat elections that will be held in this municipality on February 21.

This decision was agreed upon by the candidate for mayor Alija Tabaković, as well as all candidates who were on the candidate lists for councilors in the Srebrenica Municipal Assembly.

Namely, the initiative „My Address Srebrenica“ is dissatisfied that the Appellate Division of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina did not accept their appeal to repeat the elections by mail as well. They emphasized that they submitted all arguments and evidence in the appeal, from delays in the distribution of election materials, delays in delivery, even after the elections, especially in overseas countries.

- We are survivors of genocide and live with our traumas, but we have enough reason left to understand and know that participating in democratic elections, in which hundreds of our citizens in the diaspora are denied the right to vote, has no purpose nor does it reflect the legitimate will of all citizens who have the right to vote for Srebrenica.

It is known to everyone, and we have presented it to the public, the CEC and the Department of the Court of BiH, that we have enough arguments for the annulment of the elections by mail as well - considers the initiative „My Address Srebrenica."
