Mogherini with BiH Presidency members: Continue reforms, amend electoral legislation

BRUSSELS, (Patria) - Members of the BiH Presidency Dragan Čović, Mladen Ivanić, Bakir Izetbegović met with Federica Mogherini, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and discussed the political situation in BiH and its European path.

They also discussed the Strategy for the Western Balkans, which will soon be presented, as well as the EC Questionnaire, i.e., the answers that BiH will submit. The continuation of the implementation of the Reform Agenda, including the rule of law, was also discussed.

It was emphasized that reforms and further progress on the path to the EU are expected from BiH, which is the position of the Union member states.

Mogherini also warned the members of the BiH Presidency that it is necessary to amend the electoral legislation without further delay so that elections are held in accordance with international and European standards.

The High Representative expressed her support for the Western Balkans, including BiH, by taking concrete steps that will bring it closer to EU membership.
