Mogherini hosted a working dinner with Western Balkan representatives

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini, hosted a traditional working dinner with leaders of Western Balkan partners on Sunday evening, on the sidelines of the 74th UN General Assembly in New York.

Given the clear European Union perspective of the Western Balkans, the High Representative and the region's representatives discussed the significant progress achieved and upcoming tasks. They expressed support for the launch of accession negotiations with North Macedonia and Albania to the European Union, emphasizing that this decision is crucial not only for these two countries but for the entire region and the EU. All also supported the continuation of the dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo and the earliest possible conclusion of a legally binding agreement on the full normalization of relations.

All Western Balkan partners reaffirmed their strong commitment to the EU perspective, emphasizing the continuation of work on reforms, as well as on regional cooperation and good neighbourly relations.

The High Representative and Western Balkan leaders expressed solidarity with Albania, which was hit by a series of strong earthquakes this weekend.
