Mo BiH neglected the value of movable military assets in the amount of about 72.8 million KM

The Audit Office of Institutions of BiH gave a qualified opinion to the Ministry of Defence of BiH for 2013, but the Deputy General Auditor Dževad Nekić gave a dissenting opinion based on identified irregularities. It is stated that the movable military assets used for the needs of the Ministry are not valued in the accounting records of the Mo, writes Patria.

- Thus, the fixed assets and sources of funds of the Mo are underestimated by at least 72,894,000 KM - it is stated in the dissenting opinion.

Likewise, a review of the documentation revealed an inefficient and unreliable public procurement system.

- In addition to the above, the Ministry was alerted to the rationalization of costs for the use of official vehicles - it is stated in the opinion.

All of this also affected the assets of the Mo, which are stated in the amount of 52,600,000 KM instead of 125,494,000 KM as they should have been.

- The inventory of assets has lost its purpose, there is no book value of assets in this Ministry. These are irregularities and omissions that are repeated from year to year, the financial reports for 2013 are inaccurate, unreliable and lead the users of the reports to wrong conclusions - it is stated in the dissenting opinion.

Due to all of the above, the Deputy General Auditor Dževad Nekić gave a negative opinion on the financial audit of the Mo for 2013.

- Financial transactions and information presented in the financial reports were not, in all material respects, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations - states Nekić, reports Patria.
