Many inconsistencies surrounding the death of academic Redžić remain unexplained to this day

The death of academic Sulejman Redžić remains shrouded in mystery to this day, writes the BH news agency Patria (NAP).

He disappeared on January 7th and was found dead almost 15 days later in an inaccessible canyon of the Miljacka River. According to official but vague information from the prosecutor's office and the police, the academic's death was not violent. However, for many, he was murdered!

Redžić was one of the most prominent Bosniak intellectuals of the new era. He was born in 1954 in Jajce, which he never renounced. A world-renowned biology expert, a full professor at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in Sarajevo, president of the Club of Intellectuals 99 in Sarajevo... He feared no one and advocated for the progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as for the awareness of all its peoples, especially Bosniaks. For many, it was precisely his expertise, sharp intellect, and desire for the country's development and progress that bothered someone.

Amira Redžić, Sulejman Redžić's wife, a few days after her husband's lifeless body was found, revealed very important details to Oslobođenje journalist Edina Kamenica regarding the academic's disappearance, which gave even more impetus to those who believe Redžić was murdered!

- He left in a dark-colored winter jacket with a hood, not a leather one, as some have said, and dark-colored padded winter trousers, definitely not sweatpants, although it is now being said he was found in them. He was wearing, not the shoes everyone is mentioning now, but black, deep leather boots, and he had a warm, checkered gray scarf – Amira recalled, noting that her husband did not have a hat or gloves, which are also mentioned in some reports. However, he left with a camera, in its original black case, which he never parted with.

This camera seemed to have vanished into thin air. The family was told that it was not found at the location where Redžić's body was:

- Some mention that he didn't have his wallet either, but Sulejman never had a wallet. However, I am sure that he kept 150 euros in an envelope, in the pocket of the case. His various documents were also in the pocket – said Amira, also denying claims that the academic did not have his mobile phone that day.

That January 7th was a non-working day at the faculty because it was Orthodox Christmas, so the Redžićs spent the day in their usual family atmosphere. They had planned, Amira revealed in that interview with Oslobođenje, through Relax, for the four-member family to travel abroad on January 23rd (the academic was buried at Bare on that day), to round off a cycle of strenuous lectures and exams for their daughters Ismeta and Belma, and also for the academic and his wife, who is also a professor at the Faculty of Medicine in Sarajevo, to gather new energy for their work. They were looking forward to that trip, and, lo and behold, among the condolence telegrams was one from Relax.

Amra recounted how they had lunch that day, she thinks it was about twenty minutes before 3 PM when her husband went out for a walk.

- And he wouldn't lie down right after eating. He had that habit. Daily walks, especially in the old part of the city, were something everyone knew him for.

That was the last day of academic Redžić's life. After a two-week search for him, he was found in the canyon of a river he often visited, near Sarajevo. There are many inconsistencies regarding the disappearance and death of academic Sulejman Redžić, which remain unresolved to this day, writes Patria.
