Mlin i pekara Ljubače becomes first 'NON GMO' animal feed factory in BiH

TUZLA, (Patria) - Mlin i pekara Ljubače d.d. Tuzla has received the „NON GMO“ certificate for animal feed. This is the first animal feed factory in Bosnia and Herzegovina to meet the strict NON GMO standard, which guarantees that no genetically modified ingredients were used in the entire production process.

The certification was carried out by the authorized certification agency - SGS. The audit itself was conducted on February 27 this year, whereby the factory simultaneously met the requirements for joining the European Danube Soya Association.

The standardization was carried out according to the guidelines of the Agency for Food Safety of BiH as a result of the demands and needs of the animal feed market on the domestic market.

“With this certificate, we have become the first animal feed factory in BiH to successfully meet these requirements. The „NON GMO produced“ label is unique for all markets and enables the creation of a common NON GMO product market, regional trade, and promotion of certified NON GMO products. By obtaining this certificate, Mlin i pekara Ljubače gains a competitive advantage over other producers, enables access to new markets, expands its range of animal feed products, and follows trends in the animal feed production market, which are the result of increased awareness among end consumers about healthy nutrition”, stated Adnan Imerović, director of the company Mlin i pekara Ljubače d.d. Tuzla.

The “NON GMO produced“ label guarantees that no genetically modified ingredients were used in the entire production process, i.e., that all components in the final product are NON GMO, and that all animals were fed with genetically unmodified animal feed.
