Young man with Down syndrome undergoing professional training at Ilidža Municipality

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - By decision of the municipal mayor Nermin Muzur, for the next six months, Kenan Kovačević, a person with Down syndrome, will undergo professional training without employment at the Ilidža Municipality.

Kenan graduated from the Secondary Technical School of Graphic Technologies, Design, and Multimedia in Ilidža, is an active swimmer, and has won medals at international competitions. He expressed his desire and interest to gain his first work experience at the Ilidža Municipality's copy center and signed a contract for the next six months.

Mayor Muzur welcomed Kenan to his workplace and wished him a good first day.

“Kenan submitted an application and expressed his desire to gain his first work experience at the Municipality, and it was not in question for us to fulfill that wish. Through legal mechanisms, we have enabled Kenan, with his professional qualifications, to undergo professional training without employment at the Ilidža Municipality for the next six months, thereby gaining necessary work experience.
He is a very cheerful, smiling, and hardworking young man, and we are truly looking forward to him being with us in the coming period,” said Mayor Muzur.

Kenan emphasized that he is looking forward to the opportunity to work at the copy center in the coming period, is ready for new work victories, and hopes to meet expectations.
