Young man from Bihać Adnan Babić (21) offers a solution for traffic jams. He designed a software that adjusts traffic light operation to traffic intensity.
Thus, Adnan explained in an interview with the BH News Agency Patria, green light on traffic lights with his software will last the longest in the morning, when traffic jams are greatest, during the day it will last shorter, while green and red lights will alternate more frequently in the evening, when traffic is weaker.

Adnan received a silver medal for this patent in 2011 in Geneva and Paris, at the innovation fair. He is now waiting for an investor who would invest money for the serial production of this software.

But that's not all. The smart traffic light software of this man from Krajina also has remote control, which can be used by ambulance drivers.

- The ambulance driver can, with the help of a mobile phone, ensure a green wave for himself and thus avoid wasting time at traffic lights – Adnan explained to NAP.

The young man from Bihać is a final-year student at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Bihać, and he has been involved in innovations since childhood. He says he got the inspiration for the smart traffic light by observing the traffic lights at the central intersection in his city, which he passes every day.

- Traffic lights sometimes cause bigger traffic jams than there would be without traffic lights. That's why I thought they should be a little smarter – Adnan told NAP.

- It's strange that existing things only need a little improvement to make life much easier. But, well, that doesn't happen so often – says the innovator.

The greatest innovations of today, Adnan explains, are simple and happened by chance. But the idea itself, he says, doesn't just fall from the sky.

- No matter how simple and logical the idea is, there are hours of thinking and practical attempts to make something behind it – says Adnan.
