Mladen Ždrale extradited to Bosnia and Herzegovina

Mladen Ždrale, convicted for participation in a triple murder in Sarajevo, has been extradited to BiH from the extradition detention in Novi Sad, reports Patria.

Ždrale was arrested in late November 2016 in Novi Sad based on an international Interpol warrant and was held in extradition detention at the Klisa Prison.

He is accused of participating in the crime in Sarajevo in November 2005. The BiH Prosecutor's Office accused him of participating in the preparation of the triple murder and of providing assistance to the killer after the crime.

Ždrale was arrested in 2013 as part of the "Lutka" operation. However, he was acquitted of the criminal offense by the first-instance verdict, and after spending more than two years in detention, he was released, with the explanation that the Prosecutor's Office failed to prove that Ždrale was driving the car in which the killer was allegedly located.

That verdict was overturned by the Court of Appeals, and he was finally sentenced to 15 years in prison.
