Mladen Ivanić at the Summit in Dubrovnik: The European Union is very receptive to BiH

Chairman of the BiH Presidency Mladen Ivanić addressed the participants of the gathering during the presidential panel, thanking Croatia for the excellent organization of the event and successful presidency in the past year, and emphasized that SEECP is an extremely important regional organization, whose significance is not sufficiently highlighted.

Continuing his speech, Chairman Ivanić said that he had just returned from Brussels and that he was very satisfied with the impressions he brought regarding the European Union's disposition towards Bosnia and Herzegovina and other countries aspiring to EU membership.

He stressed that it is necessary for the countries of the region to do their part, primarily by improving mutual relations. This is especially important for BiH, because good relations in the region mean stability for BiH, said the chairman.

Continuing his address, he pointed out several positive developments that have occurred in BiH in the past period, and expressed hope that this will result in candidate status for EU membership as soon as possible.

The Chairman of the BiH Presidency agreed with the previous speakers that the joint fight against extremism and violent radicalism is extremely important for the security of the region, and expressed satisfaction that this topic is being discussed more openly in BiH than in the previous period.

At the end of his address, he wished Slovenia much success in its presidency next year.

The Summit is attended by the presidents of the region's countries, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, Aleksandar Vučić, Borut Pahor, Filip Vujanović, Gjorge Ivanov, the Prime Minister of Bulgaria Bojko Borisov, the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Tuğrul Türkeş, and other officials from the participating countries of the Process, reports NAP.
