Musical Footloose on October 22nd before the Zenica audience

After the media-described "triumphant premiere of the musical Footloose", which was held on June 13, 2014, at the National Theatre Sarajevo, the play will be reprised on October 22nd at 8 PM at the Bosnian National Theatre Zenica, writes the BiH news agency Patria. 

The performers of the musical are students from all departments of the Sarajevo Music Academy, soloists of the National Theatre Opera, as well as young musicians, dancers, and vocalists who are specializing in the field of Musical Theatre.

This is an American hit musical, directed by Herbert Ross, with music by Tom Snow from 1984, and considering the year the film was made, this production of the "Footloose" musical symbolically marks 30 years since the film's premiere and 30 years since the 1984 Winter Olympic Games in Sarajevo.

The creative team of the play includes: choreographer Samra Mlinar-Mandić, set design/costume design andMTM, musical direction Alma Ferović-Fazlić, direction Irfan Avdić and Emin Hajrić, arrangements Adnan Musanovic and accompanying Aida Mušković-Arsić.

The musical is produced by the Institute for Music, Theatre and Multimedia from Sarajevo in cooperation with the Sarajevo Music Academy, the iMTM Association, and the guest performance in Zenica is realized with the financial support of the Gender Centre of the Federation of BiH through the FIGAP program, as well as the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton.

In the title roles, we will see Leonard Šarić, Melisa Hajrulahović-Tomić, Tarik Mulaomerović, Nikolina Vujić, Aida Mušković-Arsić, Alen Hadžić, Ivan Sušac, Negra Čičić, Ajsela Zoronjić, Narcis Zečić, Adis Pirić, and Irma Mulić. The performing ensemble includes Dženana Aganspahić, Medina Turković, Tina Dervišević, Ena Prutina, Edina Kordić, Emina Zahirović, Rabija Mahmutović, Dino Hasanbegović, Lejla Čaušević, Andrea Krasnić, Iva Vukić, Dinka Stroil, Andrijana Tadić, Irfan Čekić, Muedib Islamović, and Amel Begić.

The musical band includes: Adnan Musanovic piano, Amar Češljar drums, Darko Hrgić bass guitar, Vedran Vujica guitar, and Erik Marjanović sax. The special guest of the production is Fuad Backović Deen.

The second post-war musical "Footloose" was initiated by the great success we achieved with the first post-war musical "Grease", which was also premiered in the same production at the National Theatre Sarajevo in May 2013 and commercially reprised three times in July and December.

Tickets at the price of 10KM are on sale at the box office of the Bosnian National Theatre Zenica.

About the musical Footloose

After his mother loses her job, Ren McCormack, along with her, must move from Chicago to the small town of Beaumont. Beaumont is a sleepy town ruled by Mayor Shaw Moore. Dancing is forbidden in the town, so the graduating students are not even allowed to organize their prom. Ren cannot accept this way of life and decides to take matters into his own hands.
