(Patria) - Citizens blocked the main road near Donja Jablanica for 19 minutes at noon today, in memory of the same number of people who died during the floods in October.
Seven days after the last protests, residents of Jablanica again expressed dissatisfaction with the authorities' attitude, as they do not know what will happen with the reconstruction of their property even two months after the floods, reports RSE.
They read out demands seeking an assessment of the security situation, i.e., whether it is possible for stones from the quarry, which was the main cause of damage to property and citizens, to be set in motion again.
"We are asking for answers as to whether we will be able to return to our homes at all," was one of the messages from the gathering.
Residents also demand that the authorities finally tell them what the method of resolving housing issues will be for people whose property was damaged, as well as resolving the problem of still-uncollected waste.
Previous protests by residents were held on November 24, and three days earlier in Jablanica, alongside residents, workers from companies whose operations were threatened due to the interruption of railway traffic through the settlement also protested. Reconstruction work on the railway line began yesterday.
A total of 27 people died in the floods and landslides that hit Herzegovina and central Bosnia on October 4, and the total damage is estimated at 270 million KM.
