MEAGER: Healthcare union responds to published offer of the HNK Government

The Government of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton (HNK) published on its website a tabular overview of the offer to healthcare workers in HNK.

"We are publishing the offer of the Negotiating Team of the Government and all employers in HNK to the representative Independent Union of Employees of the University Clinical Hospital Mostar. The offered increase in income ranges from 27 to 36 percent over two years, which totals 18 million KM and would equalize the rights of non-medical staff in HNK healthcare with those of medical staff!", states the press release accompanying the tabular overview of the Government's offer. The union insists that it is meager.

"The offer of the HNK Government, which the union received back in September of last year and which was presented in tabular form on the Government's website, in practice means that a cleaner receives a salary increase of about 25 KM per year over two years, i.e., about 50 KM net in total for two years, which is humiliating and completely unacceptable. Also, the stated percentages of increase are not accurate and are not well calculated, and the total increase for, e.g., occupation group V from 2.10 to 2.80 in the table is stated to be 34.28%, but according to our calculation it is 33.33%, if the methodology for expressing salary increases for doctors is used, and we believe that the Government's experts should correct the offer and properly calculate the proposed increase," says Dalibor Vuković from the healthcare workers' union in HNK for hercegovina.info.
