Metropolitan Hrizostom of Dabar-Bosnia: The essence of Easter is the victory of love over hatred, hope over despair!

(Patria) - Metropolitan Hrizostom of Dabar-Bosnia emphasised that wise policies should be the solution to all social and political problems in which Orthodox Christians have again found themselves.

"That is what politics is for—through dialogue and tolerant confrontation of different axioms and principles, to reach solutions acceptable to all," stated Metropolitan Hrizostom in his Easter message.

He said that the Orthodox people must be what Christ called "the light of the world" and, by shining, show the way this world should go.

"With that in mind, let us be brave and resolute and not allow the darkness of hatred and evil of this world to overwhelm and overpower us," said Metropolitan Hrizostom, appealing to all Orthodox Christians to be witnesses of Christ's resurrection before people.

He stressed that Orthodox Christians have no right to return to the time of darkness in which they once lived, but have an obligation to fulfill what the Lord instructed them—to go and teach all nations the doctrine He handed down to them and to witness to them the Risen Christ.

Bishop Hrizostom reminded that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundation of the Orthodox Christian faith.

The Metropolitan called on Orthodox Christians to rejoice and be glad in this, as he stated, greatest and most joyful holiday, because the resurrection of Christ, he emphasised, is the greatest event in world history that fundamentally changed everything.

"The essence of the feast of Christ's Resurrection is Christ's victory over death, sin, and the devil. The victory of love over hatred, hope over despair," said Metropolitan Hrizostom, with the greeting "Christ is Risen! Truly He is Risen!"
