Mirza Teletović to Take Over as President of the Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina!

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Celebrated Bosnian and Herzegovinian basketball player Mirza Teletović will soon take over the position of president of the Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (KS BiH), confirmed for Patria. The former captain of our national team will replace Sejo Bukva at KS BiH.

Namely, the current member of the Management Board of KS BiH, Sejo Bukva, decided to step down from this function, and the Basketball Federation of Sarajevo Canton proposed Mirza Teletović for his position. The Assembly of KS BiH will be held on October 29, where Teletović's appointment to the Management Board will be confirmed.

The current president of KS BiH is Dalibor Miloš, and at the beginning of November, according to rotation, a Bosniak will take his place. That position was supposed to be taken by Bukva, but given that Teletović is taking Bukva's place on the Management Board, Mirza will thus become the president of KS BiH.

The information was also confirmed by Mirza Teletović via his official Facebook profile.

- After much thought, why should I, for what reason, what will I get in life from nerves, frustration, fighting windmills, and everything that comes with responsible positions, I made a decision that my life without basketball is not a life.

Yes, at the proposal of the Basketball Federation of Sarajevo Canton and Mr. Nihad Selimović, I agreed to be a candidate for the Management Board of the Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. If that proposal passes at the Assembly of our country's Basketball Federation, from November, according to the rotation system, I should also be the president of the Basketball Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will be a great honor and pleasure, but also a responsibility, because basketball in our country needs to be returned to its rightful place.

I am not interested in empty talk, even though our sport is burdened by it, but I am exclusively interested in the progress of basketball. Our country has always been full of talent, but we lacked self-criticism and work, and I will give my best so that we never again have to beg anyone, never again ask anyone, and never wait for charity to compete, but that in the years ahead, we become a Federation that will not be ashamed of its work.

In the future, only affirmative things will be written and said about us, because that is my goal. That is why I took on this obligation, and I know it will be very difficult to achieve everything I have listed, but I have never been interested in mediocrity in life, only progress.

Basketball is my life, my profession, my love, basketball has given me everything in life, and I have given everything to it, and I hope to have the help of all those people who love this sport, because it is easy to talk about what needs to be done, the problem arises when it comes to concrete things. I am here for concrete things and I do not like to talk about things that are yet to happen. Time will show – Teletović confirmed.

The Management Board of KS BiH consists of nine members, three from each constituent people. Each people, from the three members on the Management Board, nominates one candidate for president. Of the three at the top, one member of the KS BiH Management Board is the president, while the remaining two are vice-presidents. They also rotate in the position of president every six months.
