Mirza Selimović held a spectacular concert in Ilidža for over 12,000 people

(Patria) - Bosnian singer Mirza Selimović held a spectacular concert on the Square of the Fourth Motorized Brigade in Ilidža, in front of more than 12,000 spectators.

- I just want to briefly greet you, especially our people from the diaspora, I am sure they are from all parts of Europe and the world. I believe that Mirza will provide a great atmosphere, and that he will remember this concert for the rest of his musical career - said the Mayor of Ilidža Municipality, Nermin Muzur, in a brief address to the gathered audience just before the concert, wishing everyone a good time.

Selimović opened the concert with the song "Sve na svoje dođe" (Everything comes to its place), stating "finally Sarajevo is in Ilidža", and the numerous audience in the largest square in Sarajevo Canton sang along with the popular singer.

Merjema Alihodžić, the winner of last year's Ilidža Festival, also had the opportunity to sing with Mirza in front of the packed central Ilidža square. After singing the duet "Da se opet rodim" (If I were born again), Alihodžić also performed the song "Pjesmo moja" (My Song), with which she triumphed in the competition evening of the "Ilidža" Folk Music Festival last summer.

Hit after hit from Selimović's four albums so far followed, and the audience enjoyed Mirza's performances until half an hour before midnight.

Publicly acknowledging the audience that this is certainly one of the most beautiful concerts of his career, Selimović said that the concert in Ilidža is probably the best indication that the time has come for a big solo concert in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The fact that Ilidža Municipality is seriously concerned with its image as a tourist leader in Bosnia and Herzegovina is also indicated by the announcements that the Square of the Fourth Motorized Brigade will host two more major concerts on August 23 and 25, which will be a kind of overture to the "Ilidža 2024" Folk Music Festival, which will be held on August 27 and 28.
