Mirza Bašić wins first ATP title of his career!

Bosnian tennis player Mirza Bašić has won his first ATP title of his career, and standing between him and his first ATP title was Romanian tennis player Marius Copil, whom Bašić defeated 2:1 in sets.

The twenty-six-year-old from Sarajevo defeated the Romanian tennis player in the final of the ATP 250 tournament in Sofia after two hours and 20 minutes of play.

Bašić (129th ATP) achieved the biggest victory of his career in the semifinals by defeating the great Stan Wawrinka (15th ATP) with a score of 2:0 in sets.

Although Copil is much lower ranked than Swiss tennis player Wawrinka, the victory against the Romanian tennis player is even greater for Bašić, as it brought him his first ATP title of his career.

On his way to the final of the ATP 250 tournament in Sofia, besides Wawrinka, our tennis player defeated Alexander Lazov (495th ATP) from Bulgaria and Bosnian tennis player Tomislav Brkić (239th ATP) in the qualifiers, as well as Florian Mayer (72nd ATP) from Germany, Philipp Kohlschreiber (35th ATP) from Germany, and Maximilian Marterer (82nd ATP), who also comes from Germany. He played against the Germans, as well as against Wawrinka, in the main draw of the tournament in Sofia.
