SOFIA, (Patria) - Mirza Bašić has advanced to the second round of the ATP 250 series tournament in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia.
After successfully qualifying for the main draw, Bašić faced Ukrainian Sergiy Stakhovsky in the first round.
However, Stakhovsky had to withdraw due to injury, so Bašić faced German tennis player Florian Mayer.
Bašić secured a confident 2-0 victory over Mayer (6:4, 6:1).
In the next round, Bašić will play against another German, the tournament's fourth seed, Philipp Kohlschreiber.
Our player is currently ranked 121st in the world, and with good performances and results, he could very quickly enter the Top 100.
