(Patria) - In front of the Office of the High Representative (OHR) building in Sarajevo, citizens are protesting ahead of the two-day session of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC).
According to announcements, the PIC session could discuss important political issues for the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the election of a new High Representative.
The organizer of today's peaceful gathering in front of the OHR building is the Association of Independent Intellectuals Krug 99.
From Krug 99, they emphasize that the goal of the protest is not opposition to international institutions, but to send a message that the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina want to be respected in decision-making processes that directly affect the political and social future of their country.
The protest comes at a time when a meeting of the PIC Steering Board is expected, which is why organizers believe it is important to highlight the views of citizens and their expectations from future political processes.
As they state, the gathering represents a call for the voice of citizens to be taken more seriously when making decisions about Bosnia and Herzegovina, instead of deciding its future without broader social dialogue.
