Peaceful New Year's Eve in Sarajevo, Bombaj Štampa Tonight in front of the Eternal Flame

(Patria) - The New Year's celebration in the capital of BiH passed without major issues. With large police forces securing the event and Hari Varešanović's concert, New Year's Eve, according to reports from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Sarajevo Canton and the Sarajevo Canton Emergency Medical Service Institute, passed without major recorded incidents.

The Operational Center of the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasizes that they did not have any significant interventions during New Year's Eve.

In the Emergency Service, doctors had the most work due to minor injuries caused by pyrotechnic devices and excessive alcohol consumption.

Last night, thousands of people from the region and Europe welcomed the New Year 2019 in front of the Eternal Flame with Varešanović and fireworks. Tonight, the pop-rock band Bombaj Štampa with Branko Đurić Đuro will perform at the same location. The program starts at 9 PM, and the opening act will be the young Sarajevo band Mirza&Panduri.

The open-air New Year's celebration is organized by the City of Sarajevo with the financial support of four city municipalities – Stari Grad, Centar, Novi Grad, and Novo Sarajevo, as well as the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board.
