Minister Salčinović discussed with representatives of patient associations within the 'Vote for Life' initiative

(Patria) - A working meeting was held today at the premises of the Ministry of Health of the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) with representatives of patient associations gathered within the "Vote for Life" initiative.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Health, Dr. Aida Salčinović, project manager Adisa Velić, and president of the Snaga BiH Association, Alma Stefanišin.

The "Vote for Life" initiative brings together more than 35 patient associations across Bosnia and Herzegovina and represents the voice of over 10,000 affected citizens.

Its main goal is to improve the position of patients through direct communication with competent institutions and advocating for healthcare reforms.

Important issues for the improvement of the healthcare system were discussed at the meeting, particularly the Solidarity Fund and the essential drug list.

Representatives of the associations announced that in the coming period they will insist on revising the Solidarity Fund's Drug List, as well as on adopting the Law on Rare Diseases.

They also emphasized that they will continue public advocacy activities and monitoring of institutional work, with expectations of concrete results in the interest of patients.

- The Ministry of Health is ready to continue dialogue and cooperation with patient associations, and in the coming period, we will intensify communication and joint work on finding solutions.

We will do everything within our competence and capabilities to help, because the health of citizens must be a priority.

The healthcare system must be based on transparency and equal access to therapies for all citizens - stated Minister Salčinović.
