Minister Hota-Muminović held a meeting with principals: Solutions sought for the shortage of professional staff in schools

(Patria) - The Minister of Education of Sarajevo Canton Naida Hota-Muminović held a meeting today with representatives of the Association of Principals of Sarajevo Primary Schools. They discussed changes to regulations, adoption of bylaws, and redefinition of pedagogical standards within primary schools.

Principals expressed gratitude for the introduction of the position of assistant principal in primary schools, in accordance with pedagogical standards, which has significantly improved the operability and functioning of schools since the beginning of the current school year.

It was emphasized that the funds allocated by the Ministry of Education of Sarajevo Canton for small, effective projects and the improvement of infrastructure in primary schools have proven to be extremely significant for initiating quality changes. Hope was also expressed for the continuation of this practice in the future.

The Association of Principals pointed out that the biggest challenge facing school administrations currently is the shortage of professional staff in schools, and strategic activities and steps need to be taken in the coming period to overcome this problem.

“Successful school management has a great impact on creating good conditions for the growth and development of the entire school community. In the coming period, the leadership skills of school principals will be particularly emphasized,” stated Minister Hota-Muminović.

As she added, school principals in Sarajevo Canton, together with their staff, have worked tirelessly and continue to work on improving educational opportunities and have shown that they possess the knowledge and responsibility necessary for leading schools.
