Minister Konaković, where is the narrative: The Trojka in the jaws of European partners and under attack from bad compromises!

Like a water bubble, the euro-fantasy of the Trojka political project has burst. The political leaders of the three-party coalition organized a kind of collective celebration of success on the European path a few days ago and said - forward, no turning back. In their desire to politically profit from Europe, which is being investigated by Putin, they invited everyone who is a member of their parties and employed in some institutions to the conference.

Elmedin Konaković, Nermin Nikšić, and, admittedly, rarely Edin Forto, rushed around to explain to the public that prosperity is here and all thanks to them.

Elmedin Konaković multiplied himself in regime media and assumed the role of Minister of Foreign Affairs, talking about champion integrations, the success of BiH which has far surpassed everyone in the region, the great work he and the Trojka have done…

“For us in BiH, the most important thing is that compromise and dialogue pay off. We have succeeded in creating that narrative and we see the results,” Konaković said in the days when I wondered why Dragan Čović and Milorad Dodik were not even trying to benefit from the gifted European path.

And then it became clear that these were old foxes of political games, who have survived for more than two decades in the murky and turbulent political waters of Bosnia and Herzegovina for a reason. Both knew that the High Representative and his imposition of amendments to the Election Law would happen. And while the tricolors from Sarajevo were celebrating Europe, Čović and Dodik, in the shadow of that story, were preparing a response through which they would set maximalist demands after Schmidt announced his imposition.

And that the leaders of the Trojka are classic short-sighted political losers is shown by the surprise and unpreparedness they exhibit after Čović's call for the PIC to review Christian Schmidt's decision and the message from Dodik and his political artillery from the NSRs, which is absolutely conditional.

How surprised and scared they all were is shown by Nermin Nikšić's reaction, who says: “We have nothing against Dodik continuing with SDA instead of us.” He has nothing against it, because he clearly hasn't realized yet that he doesn't have a say in anything.

Just as Elmedin Konaković hasn't realized that his skill in compromise and narrative yields results only when the Trojka agrees to tamper with the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina so that they are more acceptable to Dodik and Čović than to the EU and the integration path.

Although there are more than two years left until the General Elections in 2026, it is quite clear that the Trojka is another completely failed project of the US, EU, and OHR alliance. Because, not only is it questionable whether they will survive in some kind of partnership with Dodik and Čović by 2026, but it is also questionable to what extent the Trojka member parties will survive those elections.

Dodik showed last night that there is no longer any doubt about the path he will take, and he will undoubtedly use all the political artillery he has employed to gain the final attribute of RS statehood - state property. With that gain, he can calmly wait for the opportunity to seal the fate of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose “patriots” and leaders understood that property as “some fields”. Čović will follow Dodik, and the narrative and compromise of Konaković, Nikšić, and Forto will be an introduction to either the division of Bosnia or new conflicts.

Hard for the winner, I wrote on October 8, 2022. At that time, Dodik had only three demands. And none of those three have been met to this day, but he has fulfilled 33 other demands.

And indeed, it is hard for the winner who tramples on the will of the people. Because, when the time comes, the people will trample on the political strongman who would sell the country and the people for a little European grace!
