Ministry of Health of ZDC: Focus on Implementation of the HSIP Project

(Patria) - A meeting was held today at the Ministry of Health of the Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDC) as part of the project "Improvement of the Health System in the Federation of BiH - HSIP", which the Federal Ministry of Health is implementing in cooperation with the World Bank.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Health of ZDC Aida Salčinović, HSIP project leader on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Health Vildana Doder with the HSIP implementation team, representatives of the Zenica Cantonal Hospital, the director of the Health Insurance Institute, the Institute of Occupational Medicine, and a representative of the Institute for Health and Food Safety, as well as directors of health centers from the ZDC area.



The Minister of Health welcomed all participants and thanked them for their response. She emphasized that this is an important step towards achieving the project's goals and expressed the expectation that joint work will contribute to solving the problems faced by health institutions, as well as improving primary health care, hospital systems, and information technologies.

Minister Salčinović recalled that last month a conference of health ministers was held in Neum, where numerous conclusions were reached on necessary changes and ways to improve the health system.

- With the support of the Federal Ministry of Health and the World Bank, I believe we will significantly improve the quality of health care in our canton - said Salčinović.

Key topics related to the HSIP project - Improvement of the Health System in the Federation of BiH were discussed. Special focus was placed on the current status of the project, the procurement phase of medical equipment according to the requirements of health institutions, and planned activities for the next year.

An important topic of the meeting concerned project indicators and the obligation to collect data, which was highlighted as one of the foundations for monitoring the success of implementation.



The project implementation team presented brief information on the development of information technologies being introduced in the cantons, as well as on the process of implementing the safety and quality system.

The meeting concluded with an open discussion on the rationalization of the health system, with an emphasis on strengthening the role of primary health care as a foundation for improving health services.

The meeting was an opportunity to review key activities and priorities within the project, with the aim of strengthening the health system and improving the quality of health services.
