Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton: Modern mercury analyzer procured

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Government of Sarajevo Canton and the Ministry of Health, within the project "Procurement of diagnostic laboratory equipment and spare parts for microbiological and chemical laboratory", have procured a modern mercury analyzer instrument for the Public Institution Institute of Public Health of Sarajevo Canton.

The primary purpose of the instrument is testing and monitoring mercury content in drinking water samples, natural spring and mineral waters, food samples and objects of general use, which will enable the improvement of environmental protection.

Faster and simpler analysis of mercury in liquid and solid samples without prior lengthy preparation will significantly speed up the testing process, but also enable the detection of very low concentrations, which are requirements of European regulations that Bosnia and Herzegovina has already implemented in most of its rulebooks. Preparation for installation, calibration of the instrument and staff training are underway, which will fulfill all necessary conditions for continuous work on this instrument. Through participation in such projects, the Institute of Public Health continues the continuity of improving the quality of providing public health services with all its capacities, spatial and personnel.
