SARAJEVO, (Patria) - As part of a series of measures being undertaken by various levels of government, from municipalities, cantons, entities, and at the BiH level, the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina emphasizes the importance of removing illegal economic migrants from the streets as soon as possible, preventing their uncontrolled movement, and, if possible, accommodating them in former military facilities or by establishing new tent settlements, it was announced today from the Ministry of Security of BiH.
"Given that the issue of public order and peace falls exclusively under the legal jurisdiction of cantons and the two entities, the Ministry of Security of BiH suggests that police chiefs issue orders to police officers to act much more decisively than before. This means returning everyone who has a certain paper from migrant centers to them and restricting their movement," the statement said.
It was confirmed for NAP that 788 and 1,417 migrants, respectively, are staying in the Ušivak and Blažuj camps and can move freely. The only order is that no new migrants can be admitted.
