Minister Vranić announced control of all private healthcare institutions

SARAJevo, (Patria) - One of the doctors, Nina Jovanović, who operated on a two-year-old girl from Kakanj in a private clinic in Sarajevo, did not have a license from the KS Medical Chamber.

The girl did not wake up from anesthesia and was transferred to the University Clinical Center Sarajevo (KCUS) in a coma and connected to machines.

The Minister of Health of KS, Haris Vranić, announced today that he received information from Verlab, the only metrology laboratory, that there is no registered verification of medical devices owned by the "Private Clinic for Anesthesia and Pain Therapy" - Dr. Suad Rožajac, specialist in anesthesiology with resuscitation" in their database.

The girl's surgery was performed in the premises that Polyclinic Bejtović rents to Dr. Rožajac's clinic, which was inspected today at the request of Minister Vranić.

The Minister of Health also held a meeting today with the director of KUIP, Fahir Halilović.

"We are going to conduct a complete inspection of all private healthcare institutions in accordance with their decisions on the scope of work, undeclared work, issuance of fiscal receipts, and if major irregularities are found, we will annul the decisions," Vranić emphasized.

KUIP pointed out that in accordance with the Law on Health Protection ("Official Gazette of FBiH", numbers 46/10 and 75/13), it is stipulated that the competent Ministry of Health determines the fulfillment of conditions prescribed by law for performing health activities, and based on that, issues a decision that a healthcare institution can perform health activities, and the same is stipulated for private practice.

The determination of conditions before issuing a decision relates to the determination of conditions of premises, equipment, and staff according to the activities.
