
(Patria) - The Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs of the State of Qatar, Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem Al Ghanim, arrived in Sarajevo today, where he will begin a multi-day working visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The high-ranking guest and the delegation from Doha were welcomed at Sarajevo International Airport by
the Mufti of Sarajevo, Dr. Nedžad ef. Grabus, and the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar,
Abdulla bin Mohammed AlMohanadi, as well as representatives of the Riyasat of the Islamic Community in
BiH.
Minister Al Ghanim, who will stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina until September 15, will hold a series of
high-level meetings and visit several cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where he will
be briefed on the implementation of projects in various fields funded by the Government of Qatar,
as announced on the official X account of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Sarajevo.
The high-ranking official will tomorrow, September 12, meet with the Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic
Community in BiH, Dr. Husein ef. Kavazović, after which he will visit the Gazi Husrev-beg
Library, which was built with funds from the State of Qatar, the Faculty of Islamic Studies
in Sarajevo, the Women's Madrasa building within the Gazi Husrev-beg Madrasa, as well as RTV
"BIR".
A day later, on Wednesday, September 13, Minister Al Ghanim will, during separate
visits, meet with the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis
Bećirović, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and
Herzegovina, Dr. Denis Zvizdić, and the Minister for Human Rights and Refugees,
Sevlid Hurtić.
Official Doha is currently implementing exceptionally valuable projects in Sarajevo, Zenica,
Lukavac, Travnik, and Fojnica. The State of Qatar and Bosnia and Herzegovina are marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral cooperation this year. The member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, assessed in July this year that bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and Bosnia and Herzegovina are very good and friendly.
Reis-ul-ulema Kavazović also previously stated that the State of Qatar is a friendly
state, which has always helped and stood by Bosnia and Herzegovina. Expressing words of
gratitude, he noted that Qatar is the pride of the Muslim world, and that it is a very
well-organized state, which has goals and knows where it is going. He stated then that "with great love, our gaze is directed towards the State of Qatar".
