Minister of Interior in BPK Goražde resigns

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The newly appointed Minister of Interior of the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton Goražde, Nermin Karišik, has submitted an irrevocable resignation even before assuming office. As Patria learns, Karišik has already informed the relevant authorities in BPK Goražde about this.

„With expressions of deep gratitude for having had confidence and considered me a good candidate for Minister of Interior in BPK Goražde, I wish to inform you that I cannot accept the entrusted position after all. My decision is exclusively of a private nature and results from a desire to preserve my personal and professional dignity. I hope you understand that I do not wish to be part of the negative political processes currently occurring in BPK Goražde, which could also be linked to crime and corruption, and which should be urgently addressed by the competent institutions. Due to the mentioned events, the public in Goražde and beyond is disturbed, and I do not want my name to be part of such stories,“ states Karišik's resignation.

In addition, Karišik noted that he was in no way connected to the negative events that have attracted great media attention these days, and he wishes to remain so.  

In Goražde yesterday, there was also a new change in the leadership of the cantonal assembly. During consultations between the president and vice-presidents of the Assembly, it was agreed by a majority of votes that Aida Sirbubalo from DF will be the future chairperson. She will replace Daliborka Milović, on whose initiative the Club of the Serbian People initiated the protection of vital national interest due to the dismissal of Edita Velić and the Assembly leadership. Daliborka Milović remains vice-chairperson and announced that she will also seek protection of vital national interest regarding this decision.
