Minister Salko Bukvarević calls on veterans for negotiations

Federal Minister for Veterans and Disabled Veterans of the Defence-Liberation War Salko Bukvarević, as a representative of the Working Group of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for negotiations with demobilised veterans, has again called on the veterans gathered in front of the FBiH Government building to appoint their representatives for negotiations and, if they wish, to be received for talks at the seat of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina immediately tomorrow at any time.

- The public and demobilised veterans are reminded once again by the relevant federal ministry that the Law on the Rights of Veterans and Members of Their Families, which enables the establishment and publication of the Registry, has passed the House of Representatives in the parliamentary procedure, and it is expected to be adopted in the House of Peoples as well.

The Draft Law on Veterans' Associations of Special Social Significance has also been submitted to the parliamentary procedure, and the Ministry has accepted the request that, as of 1 August this year, the financing of the work of veterans' organisations and associations be suspended until the adoption of the Law on Veterans' Associations of Special Social Significance. 

An agreement was reached with demobilised veterans and municipal mayors on the dynamics of resolving the status issues of this population, and the Federal Ministry has accepted all the demands of the veterans that fall within its competence.

Following the proposal of veterans and veterans' associations, the preparation of criteria for the distribution of funds for resolving priority issues of veteran categories is underway, which should be available from September this year.

The Federal Minister called on the veterans gathered in front of the FBiH Government building not to do anything unjust to themselves, but to urgently appoint representatives and talk to the representatives of the Ministry and the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina - it was announced by the Federal Ministry for Veterans and Disabled Veterans of the Defence-Liberation War.

We remind you, the veterans are demanding, among other things, the adoption of a unique registry of veterans of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina and its public publication, a veteran's allowance of at least 326 KM, the cessation of funding for all veterans' associations, and free medical treatment. 

The Government does not want to discuss this topic, claiming that additional expenditures for this category would lead the Federation to bankruptcy. However, no one from the FBiH Government will yet explain why the publication of the registry is not being pursued more decisively and how it has been possible to work without it until now.
