Minister Kurić congratulates the film crew of 'Son'

(Patria) - "On behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of KS and on my own behalf, I want to congratulate the colleagues of the film crew of 'Son' on the decision that this film represents Bosnia and Herzegovina in the competition for one of the most prestigious awards in filmmaking, the Oscar, in the category of 'best foreign film'. On many occasions, I have emphasized the importance of supporting the development of the film industry in our country, and I am immensely proud that we financially supported the production of this film from the very beginning," stated the Minister of Culture and Sports of KS, Mirvad Kurić, in his congratulatory message.

The "Oscar" award is presented by the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Minister Kurić added that, like all citizens, he hopes that the American Academy will confirm the nomination.

"As co-financiers of the film, we hope for a nomination from the American Academy as well, and if that happens, the Ministry will also co-finance the costs of the crew's trip to the awards ceremony in February 2020," announced the minister.
