Minister Kraljević did not attend the Steering Board session of Indirect Taxation Authority: 255 million KM from road tolls remains undivided

(Patria) - The Steering Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) of BiH was supposed to hold an online session today, but the Federal Minister of Finance, Toni Kraljević (HDZ BiH), did not attend.

Because of this, it was not possible to vote on the distribution of road toll revenues. Kraljević was also absent from the previous session on February 9th, and a decision could not be made at the December session either because Kraljević left that session.

Kraljević does not want to support a decision that is detrimental to the Federation of BiH entity.

It was also not possible to vote on the Decision on determining temporary coefficients for the distribution of funds from the single account for the period January – March 2024.

Namely, a decision was prepared that is significantly different from previous distributions between FBiH-RS-BD (59-39-2), while 10 percent was retained to settle debts to the disadvantaged entity.

A methodology for calculation has not existed for years due to a lack of agreement among the members of the ITA Steering Board, and all parameters indicate that the Federation of BiH entity paid significantly more than it received (59 percent).

Patria sources claim that 255 million KM from road tolls should go to FBiH based on the previously unfair distribution, and of that, Brčko District would receive 5 million KM.

An agreement was reportedly reached on a 64:36 distribution between FBiH and RS, while Brčko District was excluded from this distribution.

For this distribution to be adopted, both entity finance ministers and the state minister must vote for it.
