Minister Katica and Commissioner Hajdarević Hold Meeting with Representatives of Sarajevo City Rivals Ahead of Derby

(Patria) - Ahead of the upcoming derby between FK Sarajevo and FK Željezničar, scheduled for Sunday, April 14th at 8:00 PM at the Grbavica stadium, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, Admir Katica, and Police Commissioner, Fatmir Hajdarević, held a meeting with representatives of these clubs.

Minister Katica stated that the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, Police Administration, will undertake all necessary measures to ensure the derby is held, and requested maximum cooperation and collaboration from the club representatives.

“I believe it is important to hold such a meeting and share responsibility, and to take all measures for the derby to proceed smoothly. We want the derby to take place, but you must know that the safety of citizens is our top priority, and therefore we expect maximally correct and civilized behavior from you and the fans,” Minister Katica said.

Police Commissioner Fatmir Hajdarević announced that members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, Police Administration, will conduct searches of individuals at all entrances, and that the police will not permit any form of violence or hooliganism. He emphasized that the police, clubs, and fans must act together to ensure this and every future derby proceeds smoothly, and that there must be no use of pyrotechnic devices, hooliganism, or property destruction. As stated during the meeting, the police will ensure the derby is held, but will also be resolute in protecting the city and its citizens.

Representatives of both clubs stated that holding the derby with fan attendance is a common interest, and that they will hold meetings with representatives of fan groups, convey the instructions from today's meeting, and inform them about the measures the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton, Police Administration, will take. They expressed maximum readiness for cooperation, stating that they will ask fans to adhere to instructions and demonstrate responsible behavior.

Representing FK “Sarajevo” at the meeting was Zlatan Čakal, the club's security officer, and representing FK “Željezničar” were Director Amira Bajrović – Uzunović and Security Commissioner Dino Pekić.
