Minister Ismir Jusko visits USK: The migrant crisis is a common problem

(Patria) - Minister Ismir Jusko visited the Una-Sana Canton yesterday. A meeting was held on that occasion, hosted by the Prime Minister of USK, Mustafa Ružnić, which was also attended by the Minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of USK, Nermin Kljajić, and Police Commissioner Mujo Koričić.

A joint message was sent from the meeting that these two cantons cannot bear the burden of the migrant crisis alone.

-The migrant crisis is a common problem that we are all facing. We also have a problem with migrants in Sarajevo Canton, but the problem is smaller than in the Una-Sana Canton. We need to have concrete and continuous communication between us, exchange experiences, and adopt common positions that we will propose to the state level. When we unite on this issue, we can certainly be more effective and efficient in our demands, said Minister Jusko, adding that at the meeting he had the opportunity to hear many concrete things that have been done in the Una-Sana Canton, which can also be applied in Sarajevo Canton.

“We all have the same problem, and not just from a security perspective. One of our common positions is that it is unimaginable that there has not been a joint meeting of all actors from the security sector for a long time, who would present their proposals, their experiences, and send such messages to the state leadership. In the past, it was often seen that the lack of concrete communication, especially at the security level, caused a large number of problems on the ground. During this visit, we agreed that meetings and exchanges of experience will be much more frequent in the future, both at the level of ministers and at the level of police administrations, emphasized Minister Jusko.

Regarding the situation in Sarajevo Canton, the minister emphasized that there is a big problem with accommodation capacities and that it is necessary to expand the accommodation units in the Blažuj and Ušivak migrant camps, as about a thousand migrants move through Sarajevo Canton daily outside the camps.
