(Patria) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković met today with the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Albania Igli Hasani, who is on an official visit to BiH.
"It seems to me that we perceive the opportunities and chances for our countries in the same way, as well as the threats that we can sometimes call common. We have excellent political relations. We discussed how we should work on infrastructural connectivity between these two countries. The roads seem to be from the last century when you head towards Tirana," said Konaković.
He also offered a series of praises for the work of the current government in Albania.
"Tirana Airport is an example in the world. A fantastic example of government work. We can also be proud of our Sarajevo Airport, but there is no direct flight between Tirana and Sarajevo. I thank you for your understanding and support for the adoption of the Resolution on Srebrenica. Now we have a Memorial Day every year in the General Assembly and in some textbooks, and that means a lot to us. We have not accused or named anyone," said Konaković.
Hasani said that the mutual connection between these two countries is based on friendship and respect, but also on common visions within the European Union.
He stated that the relations are stronger and that economic ties will be deepened, among other things.
"Economic cooperation is not just in numbers, but also in prosperity. We support you on your European path," he said.
Otherwise, Minister Hasani will attend the opening of the Albanian Embassy in Sarajevo, scheduled for 5:30 PM. The Embassy is located on Čadordžina street.
