Minister Čamber: In the Federation of BiH, it is cheaper to pay a fine than to register a worker

Federal Minister of Labour and Social Policy Vjekoslav Čamber warned for the Bosnian news agency Patria that the current labour laws in the FBiH must be urgently changed, because the laws currently in force are full of illogicalities and irregularities, from which the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina suffers the most.

- If an inspection finds an employer with 20 unregistered workers, i.e., those working illegally, the employer will pay a fine for only one worker, which is almost minimal. It turns out that it is more profitable for the employer to pay the fine than to pay contributions for the worker - warned Minister Čamber.

One of the prerequisites for Bosnia and Herzegovina's accession to the European Union is the amendment of labour laws, which need to be harmonised with EU laws and regulations, NAP writes.
