Minister Bandić visited students in Nova Kasaba and handed over school supplies

Minister of Labour, Social Policy, Displaced Persons and Refugees of Sarajevo Canton Muamer Bandić visited elementary school students attending supplementary instruction at the Educational Center in Nova Kasaba today and donated school supplies, textbooks, literature, and sports equipment, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

The Minister promised the students that the ministry he leads would always be available to them and would assist them in every way to improve the supplementary instruction process and fully implement their constitutionally guaranteed rights to education in the Bosnian language.

On this occasion, technical aids were also presented to the teaching staff, which will significantly improve the delivery of supplementary instruction, currently attended by 110 children from the first to the ninth grade.

Supplementary instruction is organized in the premises of the Mejlis of the Islamic Community, and classes are taught by 16 teachers, 14 of whom are from Sarajevo Canton.

The classes are attended by children from returning Bosniak families from the surrounding four municipalities: Zvornik, Konjević Polje, Bratunac, and Vlasenica, because the competent institutions in Republika Srpska did not meet the requests of their parents to provide children with instruction in the Bosnian language, as well as the introduction of a national group of subjects.

Minister Bandić was welcomed by students, teaching staff, parents of these children, and members of the school's Parents' Council, who sincerely thanked him for today's donation, as well as for all the support he has continuously provided them.
