Minister Adnan Šabani inspects road rehabilitation works on Zenica – Arnauti route

Minister of Spatial Planning, Transport, Communications and Environmental Protection of Zenica-Doboj Canton Adnan Šabani today, together with associates, inspected the rehabilitation works on the pavement of the regional road R457 Zenica – Arnauti, section "Quarry Komgrad - Quarry ŽGP". The company "Komgrad-Ze" d.o.o. Zenica has committed to complete the rehabilitation of over 900 meters of the Zenica – Arnauti – Donji Kakanj road within 60 days, which, due to damage, had been a long-standing problem for traffic participants.

- For more than a decade, residents of the Babinski Sliv area have had the need and desire for the rehabilitation of this section of the regional road, into whose modernization we have allocated several million KM from the budget of Zenica-Doboj Canton over the past two years. With the implementation of this project, this busy road route will become extremely high-quality, and that is an additional reason to ask residents and all other traffic participants to have understanding for any delays in the next two months at most, which is the time needed by the contractors for the rehabilitation of the section - stated Minister Šabani.

He took the opportunity to inspect the recently rehabilitated part of the road near the elementary school "Hamza Humo", the newly built section from Otoka towards Donji Kakanj, as well as to consider the possibility of building a pedestrian path on the approaches to the local school in the MZ Arnauti.

- For the construction of the pedestrian path, we also need minor concessions from residents whose houses are directly next to the road, but I believe that this project can also be realized - added Minister Šabani.

The value of the works on the rehabilitation of the pavement of the regional road R457 Zenica – Arnauti, section "Quarry Komgrad - Quarry ŽGP" amounts to 684,307.26 KM, and the funds are secured from the Budget of Zenica-Doboj Canton, which in 2025 allocated a record 25 million KM for the improvement of road infrastructure in all 12 municipalities and cities.
