Milorad Novković to Head the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina from April 1

The High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HJPC BiH) during the second day of the session, held on March 2 and 3, 2016 in Sarajevo, made a decision on the appointment of holders of judicial functions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The following holders of judicial functions were appointed:

- Milorad Novković, to the position of President of the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina;
- Drago Turkeš, to the position of President of the Higher Commercial Court in Banja Luka;
- Marija Aničić-Zgonjanjin, to the position of President of the District Court in Banja Luka;
- Duško Ninković, to the position of President of the District Court in Doboj;
- Senaid Ibrahimefendić, to the position of President of the District Court in East Sarajevo;
- Bojan Stević, to the position of President of the District Court in Trebinje;
- Asmir Koričić, to the position of President of the District Commercial Court in Banja Luka;
- Jovanka Jovanović, to the position of President of the District Commercial Court in Doboj;
- Vahida Halilović, to the position of Judge of the Cantonal Court in Tuzla;
- Samir Jusičić, to the position of Judge of the Cantonal Court in Tuzla;
- Adis Poljić, to the position of Judge of the Basic Court in Zvornik;  
- Goran Stupar, to the position of Professional Associate of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo;
- Amela Konjhodžić, to the position of Professional Associate of the Municipal Court in Sarajevo.

In making the Decision on Appointment, the HJPC BiH took into account criteria such as: professional knowledge, work experience and work results; professional ability based on previous career results; ability to perform duties impartially, conscientiously, diligently, decisively and responsibly within the function for which they are applying; relationships with work colleagues, conduct outside work, professional impartiality, reputation and experience in managerial positions.

The newly appointed holders of judicial functions will assume their duties on April 1, 2016. 

Incidentally, Novković will replace the current president Amir Jaganjac at the head of the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
