Million tourist overnight stays in the Sarajevo Canton this year, the highest number expected during the SFF

(Patria) - A million tourist overnight stays in the Sarajevo Canton were recorded during the past seven months and the first 10
days of August 2024, according to statistics from the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board.

"We have already achieved the first million overnight stays in the Sarajevo Canton, and according to our statistical measurements, this is the best result so far," said Haris Fazlagić, president of the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board.

Compared to the best results in previous years, the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board recorded the first million overnight stays at the beginning of September 2023 and at the end of August 2019.

"These are the results we hoped for, and they motivate us to work better and more, because we can do it, and Sarajevo deserves greater investment in presentation at the world level.

Also, since it is clear that we are talking about statistics of registered tourists, i.e., guests, we emphasize that we present official and legal data, and we know that this number in daily tourist traffic is certainly much higher, considering the operation of a large number of illegal facilities in the Sarajevo Canton, i.e., those that operate without respecting the Law on Tourism of the Sarajevo Canton," Fazlagić points out.

The largest number of tourists and guests in the Sarajevo Canton is expected in the coming days, during the Sarajevo Film Festival, which we believe will be visited by more than 30,000 people and break all previous records.
