One million marks for landslide remediation in Centar municipality

A regular annual meeting on the topic "Landslide remediation in Sarajevo Canton" was held at the premises of the Institute for Construction of Sarajevo Canton, reports the Patria News Agency.  

The data was presented by the landslide coordinator Fuad Babić from the KS Institute for Construction. Alma Sadović, assistant to the mayor for spatial planning and communal affairs, Amra Dževlan-Mioković, senior expert associate in the Service for Spatial Planning and Communal Affairs, and Adil Katica, member of the Municipal Civil Protection Staff, attended the meeting on behalf of the Centar Municipality.

- By May 15, 2014, there were 830 registered landslides, and within a few days - by May 19, when there were heavy rains, 233 new landslides appeared. We visited all the locations of the new landslides and created 23 projects ready for implementation, and we are waiting for financial resources to begin remediation - said Babić.

Regarding landslides in the Centar municipality, the following was done last year under the expert supervision of the Institute for Construction: a geotechnical report was completed for the main project of the new Podgaj-Tekija road; a retaining structure with a drainage system and sewage system was built at Alipašina Street 252-257; a geodetic base was prepared for the main project of landslide remediation in Višnjik Street;

protective nets were installed over rocks and surface water drainage was resolved in Soukbunar Streets 205-207 and Porodice Foht 86. Last year, the remediation of landslides in Nahorevo Street up to number 47a and opposite numbers 24 and 26, where reinforced concrete gabions and a new drainage system were installed, was completed. The access road to the Grdonj settlement was also remediated, while the sewage and drainage system was remediated at the landslide in Abdurahmana Muharemije Street up to number 17.

For the Mrakuša 17 landslide, the preparation of geodetic bases and the main remediation project has been completed. It is planned that the reconstruction of the stairs in Pruščakova Street, for which the main project has been completed, will begin in the spring of this year.

The Centar Municipality allocated 1,930,000 KM for landslide remediation in its budget last year, and 1,020,000 KM is planned for this purpose in 2015, it was announced from the Centar Municipality.
