
(Patria) - SDS leader and Teslić Mayor Milan Miličević, who was arrested yesterday with two other persons in the "Blok" operation on suspicion of committing the criminal offenses of receiving bribes and abuse of influence, was brought to the Republika Srpska Public Prosecutor's Office in Banja Luka, Special Department for Combating Corruption, Organized and the Most Serious Forms of Economic Crime, where he will be questioned.
Citizens, as well as opposition politicians, have started gathering in front of the Republika Srpska Public Prosecutor's Office in Banja Luka.
Let us remind you, as was announced earlier, that around BAM 400,000 was found with Miličević during the search, while around BAM 50,000 was found with Mehmed Dubravac.
Yesterday, in addition to Miličević, the President of the Teslić Municipal Assembly Mehmed Dubravac (SDS) and councilor Meša Jašarević (SDA) were also arrested and handed over to the prosecutor's office.
The Special Department of the Republika Srpska Public Prosecutor's Office for Combating Corruption, Organized and the Most Serious Forms of Economic Crime is conducting an investigation against Milan Miličević, Mehmed Dubravac, and Meša Јašarević due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they have committed the criminal offense of receiving bribes and abuse of influence, it was confirmed at this prosecutor's office.
As they stated, during the investigation, a total of BAM 90,000 was seized from the suspects on several occasions, as money given for the purchase of councilors of the Teslić Municipal Assembly, with the aim of abusing their electoral mandate, changing the assembly majority, and voting according to the instructions of the suspects.
"The Prosecutor's Office continues the investigation, including searches and other investigative actions, with the aim of finding evidence for the commission of these corrupt acts, as well as money in the amount of approximately BAM 250,000 which was handed over to the suspect M.Ј. who has not yet been found.
The Prosecutor's Office also calls on all citizens who have been victims of corrupt behavior by officials to report any such incident, and especially to immediately report any information they have regarding the purchase of councilors, in order to obtain new evidence and possibly new suspects, and to prevent the trade of mandates and the alteration of the electoral will of citizens in the future," the statement said.
