SARAJevo, (Patria) - At this moment, the FBiH Government has equipped itself to control the distribution of equipment and health protection, as numerous associations, embassies and international organizations are contacting us, said the Commander of the Federal Civil Protection Headquarters Jelka Milićević at a press conference.
“Yesterday, we established that the FBiH Public Health Institute has both the capacity and expertise to compile a list of equipment and resources needed in FBiH. After such a list, we will respond to all inquiries, and decisions will be made by the Civil Protection Headquarters and confirmed by the FBiH Government. In this way, we want to introduce a control mechanism for the expenditure of funds. There are funds in a special sub-account of FBiH, and not a single mark has been spent illegally, and there are funds for everything that needs to be procured,” Milićević stated.
She added that the Federal Civil Protection Headquarters constantly analyzes the implementation of orders and activities at its meetings.
“The possibility of opening special accounts in the FBiH Government for the dedicated collection of funds from both legal and natural persons, which will be used to form intervention funds, is also being considered. This will ensure quick processing. Money does not prevent disasters, but it mitigates them. Money mitigates disasters, and there is money for intervention activities in FBiH,” Milićević stated.
When asked if there will be a ban on movement between cities and settlements, Milićević says that they are monitoring the situation and states that the current orders are sufficient to prevent the virus from spreading quickly.
Regarding the absence of a state crisis headquarters and the existence of cantonal headquarters, she said that this is in accordance with legal provisions, and that a good way of communication needs to be found.
When asked if masks and protective masks will be procured for local crisis headquarters, Milićević says that there is equipment and that it is necessary to report who needs it and it will be delivered.
When asked if there is a possibility for those over 65 to go out for one or two days to meet their needs, Milićević says that an exception is being considered.
