Miličević receives support from citizens and remains mayor of Teslić

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Milan Miličević remains the mayor of Teslić, after receiving support from citizens in Sunday's referendum on his recall.

"I achieved an absolute victory," Miličević told reporters, adding that the numerical difference between those who supported him and those who wanted his recall was about 3,000 in his favor. 

He thanked the citizens for their support despite, as he stated, electoral manipulations. 

As the first measure after the results are confirmed by the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Miličević announced that he would initiate the procedure for dissolving the Teslić Municipal Assembly. 

"We continue the projects we have started. Our cooperation with the institutions of the Republika Srpska has never been questioned and never will be. It was never up to us," Miličević said.

The SDS, Miličević's party, earlier announced on Twitter that based on the counted 47 out of 68 polling stations in the referendum on the recall of Teslić mayor Milan Miličević, 4,355 voters voted, with 7,214 against the recall.

There were 119 invalid ballots. A total of 44,033 citizens had the right to vote.
