Mijatović: Segregation, Primitivism and Chauvinism Rule in RS, Opposition Same as Government

SARAJEVO; (Patria) - Vojin Mijatović, Vice President of the SDP BiH, spoke today on his Facebook profile. 

"I will repeat for the hundredth time, as long as there is a division on the political scene between government and opposition, things will not improve for us. Political parties should differ in ideology, in programs, not in that some are in power and others in opposition, and that the only point is to swap places.

In Prijedor, this thesis was actually proven once again; people did not turn out in greater numbers to vote for change because the government and opposition are essentially the same. Prijedor had the opportunity to choose between Dodik's and Nešić's candidate, between those who took more and those who took a little less from the citizens of Prijedor.

As long as the alternative to Dodik's regime is a Chinese copy of that same regime, the so-called opposition is nothing more than an instrument for Dodik's survival in power.

The collateral damage of the elections in Prijedor is Ivan Begić, who decided to withdraw from his position as councilor and from politics due to the disclosure of his sexual orientation.

I see no reason for such a decision, except for the fact that the party he represents is actually just a Chinese copy of the SNSD, because it doesn't work to be a 'great Serb' and a 'faggot', it doesn't work to take pictures in churches every Sunday and support LGBT rights.

Unfortunately, segregation, fascism, primitivism are an integral part of our society in the Republic of Srpska, because we are divided into government and opposition, instead of into the value system of Europe and the Middle Ages.

Since that is the case, we are witnessing life in the Middle Ages where Dodik and his regime survive, with an opposition that is satisfied just to participate and never win!

I tell Ivan Begić that there is no reason to withdraw because one should have the courage and be who you are.

I know well what it is like to be a target and subject of spitting; unfortunately, the same people spit on you, Ivan, because of your sexual orientation, and on me because I love my country.

They might forgive you because you are from the PDP and you are 'great patriots in the image of Dodik'; they will not forgive me because I was born in Banja Luka and I love Bosnia and Herzegovina, that is your ruling-opposition 'democracy'", wrote Mijatović.
