Mijatović: SDP will put partners in their place, it will be very harsh

(Patria) - SDP BiH suffered a major failure today and we will discuss it very seriously, said Vojin Mijatović, vice-president of the SDP, in his first reaction to today's debacle in the House of Peoples of the Federation of BiH.

The SDP today ended up without a single delegate in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament, even though it had lists for both the Croat Club and the Bosniak Club. Instead of the SDP, delegates were won by ZNG (Zlatko Miletić) and SBiH (Džemal Smajić).

He announced a meeting on Monday within the SDP where further relations within the eight-party coalition will be discussed. He said that the SDP president Nermin Nikšić irritates him but that he has the human trait of trusting people to the end. He pointed out that NIP was fair towards the SDP.

"It is so dramatic that they will see what it is like when the SDP fully manages the processes and puts partners in their place. We have been hearing for days that they cannot because of property, Dodik, playing patriots, while they sought positions at the state level. Those who betrayed us today. Small parties that do not have a sixth of the SDP's results are seeking positions and simultaneously talking with the SDA. I don't know how they have the face to play in this way. It will be very harsh. Nermin was more than fair, he lowered himself below all limits. But we will see how the majority will be formed in the Una-Sana Canton and the Sarajevo Canton," said Mijatović.

He emphasized that the SDP is stable, and that what happened today orchestrated by partners is at least uncivil.

"Damir Marjanović would not have entered the House of Peoples if we had not given him our support to back Jugoslav Brdar. And he gives a list, Zlatko Miletić passes, and the NES candidate enters the House of Representatives. He betrayed us, a response follows. The game is clear. The SDP holds the key. Without the SDP, there is no Federal Government. Until today, we were pathologically loyal to the eight-party project. Today we received a serious slap. There must be a response. This is the largest civic party in the country. Now they will have our demands on the table, and we will see how the situation unfolds," said Mijatović.

Speaking about the processes in the Federation of BiH, he believes that neither the SDA nor the SDP will block anything.

"Bakir and Nermin are serious political leaders and will not block the Federation of BiH regardless of everything. I deeply believe that those two men, regardless of the majority and who is on which side, are too big and too crucial for both the SDA and the SDP for this country to allow themselves that luxury. We are entering a new approach," said Mijatović.

He said that he would form a government with Edin Ramić (SDA) now and always would.
